This is an excerpt from
Crazy Love on God being all-powerful:
"Don't we live instead as though God is created for us, to do our bidding, to bless us, and to take care of our loved ones?"
Psalm 114:3 reveals, "Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. Yet we keep questioning Him: "Why did You make me with this body, instead of that one?" "Why are so many people dying of starvation?"..."Why is my family so messed up?"
The answer to each of these questions is simply this: because He's God...we are in no place to demand that He give an account to us."
...Yeah, well, doesn't this make us humans sound so insignificant? Yes, it does. Sometimes we need to take a step back and realize that we are made for Him and Him
only. It's so difficult to hear because it hurts our pride (or mine at least). It really speaks to me, because these are the exact questions that are always floating around in my head...and I consequently become very bitter. But I need to learn how to yield to God's authority and only make the best of the worst situations...This is the kind of reminder we should hear on a daily basis.
